During his childhood, he had a desire to become a cartoonist because of The Simpsons. In 2000 he started his career as a music director for the Southern Connecticut State University college radio station.
He was introduced to various music styles after Anthony Fantano began his career as a music director for the radio station at Southern Connecticut State University College.
He was inspired in the early 2000s by a friend to write about music. However, he began by sharing his musical experience on the internet through casual blog posts instead of writing reviews.
