Paula Jai Parker ( born 19 August 1969) is an American actress, comedian, songwriter, and director. She is notable for her role as Idlewild (2006), Hustle and Flow (2005), Phone Booth (2002).

She is also known for her voice of Trudy Proud in the Disney Channel animated comedy series “The Proud Family” (2001-2005).
She was born in Cleveland, Ohio of the United States. Her parent’s information isn’t available yet. In 1987 she moved to Washington DC to study at Howard University.
She relocated to New York City after completing her degree. There were several clubs where she played. She worked on the Fox comedy program “The Apollo Comedy Hour” from 1992 to 1993.
